SEMARANG – The Makassar City Government through the Population Control and Family Planning Office (DPPKB) managed to bring six awards at the 31st National Family Day (Harganas) commemoration held by National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) in Semarang City on 25–29 June 2024.
The awards were conferred directly by the BKKBN and the Central Government – in this case President Joko Widodo.
Among the six awards are Satyalencana Wira Karya, Manggala Karya Kencana, 1st Place Category (Non DPTK Region) Regional 2 Role Model Place of Independent Practice of Midwives (TPMB), and 2nd Place Regional 2 City Level Quality Family Village Competition.
Makassar City Government also won 3rd place in the BOKB Management High Category of Special Allocation Fund for Family Planning Subdivision, 1st runner-up, and the DASHAT Healthy Menu Creation Category, Chicken Menu Creation with three sauces.
The six awards were given as BKKBN assessed Makassar City Government for its high commitment and innovation in supporting the national family planning programme and accelerating the reduction of stunting prevalence in its city.
This is considered successful because it is proven that the stunting prevalence rate based on EPPGM has decreased to 3.01% as of February 2024 from 3.73% in the same month last year.
“Alhamdulillah, I just received the Satyalencana Wira Karya award from President Joko Widodo. We also brought five other BKKBN awards yesterday. In total, we got six awards. This is a proof of Makassar City’s full support for the national programme of Bangga Kencana and stunting reduction towards Golden Indonesia in 2045,” said Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto after receiving the Satyalencana Wira Karya award at Simpang Lima Semarang, Saturday (29/6).
He conveyed that Makassar City has always optimized the Bangga Kencana family development programme through KB Village as a forum for family-based community empowerment.
Starting from the fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure as well as regulatory support and financing of the Bangga Kencana programme through the APBD.
Head of DPPKB Syahruddin revealed that the success of Makassar City is an effort to prove that it has the sincerity to succeed the national programmes.
According to him, various efforts and teamwork to deliver Makassar to get various awards have been carried out considering the many innovations initiated by the Mayor of Makassar Danny Pomanto.
“I reflected on previous years, why is Makassar City only an audience, when the Mayor has many innovations related to Bangga Kencana and stunting? Starting from there, I formed a team and I intensified the work of the team from DPPKB until today. Finally, this year, we succeeded,” he said.
Stunting has become a national problem. In Makassar City, under the leadership of Danny Pomanto, stunting control is carried out through innovation implemented from the smallest section of the city – alleys.
“The Mayor’s jargon is clearly building Makassar from the alleys, and this is what made the national selection team more interested and considered it a new and innovative thing in Indonesia,” he said.
The innovations are Masiga Application, which is an innovation from DPPKB that contains a database of the Bangga Kencana programme in Makassar City, and Lopis or Lorong Pengendalian Stunting (Stunting Control Alley).

1. Satyalencana Wira Karya for Ir. Muhammad Ramdhan Pomanto, Mayor of Makassar.
2. Manggala Karya Kencana for Indira Yusuf Ismail, SE, Chairwoman of the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK) of Makassar City.
3. 1st Place Category (Non DPTK Region) Regional 2 Role Model of Independent Practice Place for Midwives (TPMB).
4. 2nd place in the Regional 2 City Level Quality Family Village Competition, Strengthening Quality Family Village at the National Level 2024 – Nusa Indah KB Village Kel. Pannampu Kec. Tallo.
5. 3rd place for BOKB Manager in the High Category of Special Allocation Fund for Family Planning Sub-sector for District/City Government.
6. 4th place for Hikmasari in the DASHAT Healthy Menu Creation Category, Menu Creation Chicken cooked three sauces, vegetable sautéed chayote Marsel, Kel. Maricaya Selatan District Mamajang Makassar City South Sulawesi.
