MAKASSAR – Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto on Monday (16/10) received a visit from the Head of the Regional 6 Financial Services Authority (OJK) for Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua (Sulampua) Darwisman, in Amirullah.
The visit is none other than to ask for the city government’s support in making the Peak of Financial Inclusion Month a success for the entire financial services industry, banking, capital markets, and non-bank financial institutions which will be held this October 28–29.
Moreover, recently Danny Pomanto together with PT Festival Eight Indonesia successfully held the Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum (F8).
“We were inspired by the success in holding F8, not only on a national scale but also internationally. We met with the mayor earlier and he responded very well,” said Darwisman.
Darwisman considered this event to be very good because it brought together the entire financial services industry with the entire community.
Apart from that, he also expressed his desire to collaborate with the city government in order to encourage the economic empowerment of city communities through the Lorong Wisata (Tourism Alley) approach.
“We will soon carry out a pilot project for 15 alleys from all sub-districts. Hopefully this will be successful and we can apply it to other alleys,” he said.
According to him, Lorong Wisata is Danny Pomanto’s creative idea in creating a mode of community economic empowerment, increasing the welfare of city residents by improving the Lorong Wisata.
On the other hand, Danny Pomanto also welcomed OJK Sulampua’s plan to join the Lorong Wisata.
He hopes that with the entry of the financial services industry into Lorong Wisata, the welfare of the community, especially MSMEs in Lorong Wisata, will increase.
