BANYUWANGI – Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani earned the Best Sub-district Supervisor in Primary Category award in the 2024 East Java Provincial Sub-district Performance Synergy (SKK) Award. The award was given as Ipuk is considered capable of mentoring sub-districts to provide services that have an impact on the community.
The award was handed over by Acting Regional Secretary of East Java Province Benny Sampirwanto to Acting Regional Secretary of Banyuwangi Guntur Priambodo in Surabaya, Tuesday (10/12/2024).
“Thank you to the East Java Provincial Government for appreciating us. In Banyuwangi, sub-districts play an important role, especially in the implementation stage of district government policies,” said Ipuk.
She explained that sub-districts in Banyuwangi are encouraged not only to carry out their duties and functions as usual, but also to implement various regional government programmes and policies in innovative ways. Starting from poverty alleviation, health programmes, education to environmental issues and community economic empowerment.
“Due to limited hands and regional budgets, we encourage all OPDs, from offices, agencies, to sub-districts, to continue to innovate in finding new ways to provide their best performance that has a direct impact on citizens,” she said.
“For example, the “rantang kasih” poverty alleviation programme, which provides food for the elderly. The sub-district should not only run the programme, but also look for ways to improve its quality and reach,” she added.
Meanwhile, Acting Regional Secretary of Banyuwangi Guntur Priambodo added that Regent Ipuk was able to win the award due to government achievements at the sub-district level.
Since 2019-2024, several sub-districts in Banyuwangi have successively entered the top five winners of the East Java Province Sub-district Performance Synergy Competition (SKK).
“Alhamdulillah, all sub-districts in Banyuwangi have been working optimally in implementing various regional programmes and policies as directed by the Regent to work innovatively and out of the box,” said Guntur.
A number of sub-districts that are included in the top five include Genteng Sub-district in 2019, Wongsorejo Sub-district in 2021, Licin Sub-district in 2021, and Rogojampi Sub-district in 2022.
All of these sub-districts received the best assessment in the attributive task category, which is the main task of the sub-district according to the law. As well as delegative tasks, namely the authority given by the district government or central government to the sub-district.
“All these tasks are carried out well by the sub-district, in line with regional commitments both in public services and priority programmes to regional support programmes,” Guntur concluded.
