BANYUWANGI – Banyuwangi Regency now has a public creativity space (creative hub) which was inaugurated by the Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, Friday (16/6).

Ipuk hopes that the Banyuwangi Creative Hub will not only be a place to showcase creativity, but also a place for young people to improve their skills in using modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Developed by the Banyuwangi Youth Creative Network (BYCN) under the coordination of the Culture and Tourism Office, the Creative Hub is located in the Sobo Integrated Tourism Terminal area.

During the inauguration, a number of works and products made by the creative ideas of Banyuwangi youth were displayed, including installation art and a video mapping.

Not only that, one of the stands also featured Smart Design AI. Visitors can see how to use the technology to design a room demonstrated by young programmers.

“We hope that this space will become a meeting point for creators, innovators and technology enthusiasts. I believe AI technology can change many aspects of our lives, and we must optimize it to develop our work. We use many AI tools to simplify and speed up our work,” said Ipuk.

Ipuk hopes that the existence of Creative Hub Banyuwangi will also have a positive impact on Banyuwangi’s youth.

They will not only share the latest knowledge and skills in technology, but also get the opportunity to develop their innovative ideas.

“This will be an incubator for Banyuwangi’s creative youth. I hope this space can also become a link between innovators and creators and the market,” said Ipuk.

Creative Hub Banyuwangi organizes various trainings and workshops on the development of creative economic sectors and the use of technology that supports them.

In addition, Creative Hub Banyuwangi also provides facilities and equipment which are supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

There are music and recording studios, computer studios, meeting rooms and more.

BYCN Chairman Vicky Hendri Kurniawan said, creative workshops and classes would be held regularly every week.

“This activity is free. Anyone can join by registering via Instagram @bwi.ch. It has a link to register for creative classes, building reservations, and other creative activities,” said Vicky.

Until now, he added, there have been 15 training classes held at the creative hub which present competent speakers in their fields.

Like the fashion sub-sector creative class held on Thursday (15/6) which presented Banyuwangi eco fashion designer Anita Yuni, who is known for her environmentally friendly products.

“For priority classes such as video, music and design classes, the implementation is not just one or two meetings, but continuously so that the participants can produce works,” Vicky concluded.
